I say kung fu between me and you,
Has helped me see what I wanna see and be,
Has helped me find within myself insight,
I clean up the unkempt gardens that indite

Need to kung fu clean up my messy room,
Sweeping out the cobwebs n deftly broom,
Words applied to watching the dream of Dune,
Solid work like a slap from a baboon

I jam with the tune within Miyagi’s room,
His whanau dojo where I sit in June,
Japanese living by an American airbase,
Slap to the face with some mud to taste

It’s GCSB and it’s old Johnny Key,
It’s a lifeless likeness of me on TV,
I walk proudly towards my hopeful goal,
This painful life living daily takes its toll

Balance yourself within like I do,
I felt depressed and didn’t want to,
Do anything at all but sit on my arse,
Kumare encouraged me to take task

These daily tasks we all must do,
We gotta see our way forward as best we can do,
Everyone together acting in unison,
Many don’t see reality as soon as this son

Themselves is all they care about,
Stuff everyone, they don’t train their sight,
Look past the perspectives they have inside,
True growth requires hard work and graft

Asking ourselves to find our path,
Facing others fears is a daily reality,
The wise part inside walks out of banality,
Scraping off rust and its spread with trust
